THe “oh fuck” fulcrum

Have you ever experienced the “oh fuck” fulcrum (OFF)?

It’s the term I use for that tipping point when the fear of staying where you are and doing what you’re doing, outweighs the fear of making changes.

It’s a scary place, but it can be hugely liberating. Because for those of us who fear the unknown (most humans), making changes in our lives is a terrifying and overwhelming prospect. Even if we know we need to.

But if we stay in a situation that isn’t serving us long enough, whether it’s a job, relationship, friendship etc, we’ll probably get to the OFF at some point.

But if we wait too long, the collateral damage in terms of battered self esteem, financial self-sabotage, stress and general unhappiness will pile up.

So what if we could get to the point of willingness to instigate change before then? Create a “fuck yes” fulcrum (FYF) instead?

It is possible, and largely comes down to increasing our tolerance for uncertainty through a mixture of nervous sytem work and perspective shifts. If we can see everything in life as a learning and growth opportunity, a chance to “bank” different experiences and live a full spectrum existance, it is possible. A little faith in the universe always helps, but isnt a prerequisite.

If the FYF sounds like something you need but have no idea how to create, let’s talk.
